Buyer's premium comparison

Pick two or three auction houses and platforms and compare the buyer's premium, bidding formats and shipping help each publishes. For a given hammer price, run the total-cost calculator next.

Each list shows your choices and 100 auction houses and platforms at a time. Search, or use Next, to see more.

How we calculated this

Every row is a listing in this directory. The buyer's premium is the first-tier percent the house publishes; the tiers and thresholds sit in the premium details row.

A blank cell means the listing does not state that detail; a blank is shown rather than a guess.

To compare total cost for one hammer price across houses, use the auction total-cost calculator with each house's premium.

Published schedules cited: Christie's buyer's premium (christies.com), Heritage terms (ha.com/c/ref/terms-and-conditions.zx), Sotheby's premium help (help.sothebys.com) and Catawiki's Buyer Protection fee (catawiki.com). Bonhams shows no premium: its published schedule is for the United States and the listing is in London.

Questions

How many auction houses and platforms can I compare?
You can compare two or three at a time.
Why is a premium cell blank?
A blank means the house does not publish a buyer's premium, or an editor has not yet cited it. Never assume it is zero — ask the house before you bid.
